The Greatest Journey saved me from a lifetime of regret.

A Promise made, and a Promise kept

Munich, Germany, and Salzburg, Austria

The epic journey continues with keeping a promise to a friend, myself, and a moment spent in Japan 2024 on one random September night, where wonderful friends and memories were made. This is that journey, an adventure into the heart of Christmas and believing in amazing and wonderful events happening, and friends.

Munich was unlike anything I had ever experienced before and inspired me to come back for a longer stay.

The Journey begins in nowhere Wyoming on a beautiful and sunny winter day.

I was excited nervious and completly out of my element, but if I could handle Japan, and the nightmare that Shinjuku station I can handle anything.

Up and out of a cold waste land and to the heart of Europe.

I had enough time to stop and have a beer before flying out.

Not to mention always time to make new friends along the way.

You never know who your going to meet, or what magic your going to experience.

Last stop before Munich, no turning back now.

And Just like that I was in Munich living the dream

Everything was exciting and new

This was exciting to see, I love seeing fresh fruit, because you know it had to be shipped in from somewhere.

This was my first time experincing anything like this so I walked around in epic wonder.

The Christmas Winter Wonderland was something. I keep thinking all of this, these buildings, these make shift cafes all had to be shipped in and made.

I loved all the lights and the massive displays of consumerism.

The idea that consumerism towers over us is impressive and also disturbing.

I have been so use to seeing megalithic towers of business and consumerism, but nothing has prepared me for this. I was blown away by the fact that everything here was older then my entire country.

This was a much different trip then when I go to Japan, this was a moment to just take everything in, to just be there.

Christmas everywhere. So much Christmas.

There are so many vendors selling so many things Christmas.

The fact that I could get hot wine, and amazing hot chocolate with amazing extras.

I was suprised to think that there are even business within this megalithic building.

Everything eventually gives away to capatilism even the spirit of Christmas.

I am forever grateful for everything I got to experience in this one picture.

Truly a beautiful and wonderful place.

The legendary Beer Hall, my first real stop. Only hours after landing and here I was living my Best life in Germany.

The surealness of it all to be standing in history that you had only ever read in books was truly next level.

To be able to drink a liter of beer at a time. Seeing people drinking liters of beer was very cool.

Pork Shank with dumplings and gravy was on another level.

Another beer? Yes, please.

Just a beer hall but with so much history.

The Plaza and area outside was truly amazing. I would have been just fine with it snowing at this point. Magical, so magical.

I meet some incredible people and cant wait from them to come and visit.

I meet some incredible people from china and had a few drinks with them.

By the time everything was over I had the entire town to myself.

I feelt likle I was in a movie, like the night before Christmas.

Just hours earlier the town was packed, wall to wall people.

I was absolutely blown away about having the whole city to myself.

There was a fog hanging over the town leaving everything with a sense of profound magic. Now, that I was in Munich I was feeling much better about crossing the pond.

I have closed down Tokyo but there was always someone hanging around, but this was on another level. On one level I couldn’t help but think I was the last man on earth.

So much Christmas waiting for next day and life to return.

Absoultly love getting this picture. I love how tall and ominous it stood in the dead of night, early morning.

I thought this was a cool picture just because of the Five Guys. When I stopped to think abou tit I was blown away to think how some brands are now world brands.

The ability to see places that I had been or would be in retrospect was quite profound sense of being.

I had to walk an incredible distance to and from the Beer Hall it was sureal each time I undertook the journey.

If I had known that I could have the metro I totally would have, but my motto is if you don’t walk then how are you gonna see the city.

I was amazed at the beautiful architecture and afforded the chance to see it with out so many people.

And to cape off the morning a wonderful McDonald’s Breakfast

And this was just the first day in Munich, well, not even a full day, and I closed down the town and made it to McDonald's for, I guess, what you would call an early breakfast. 2:36 am

The new day begins. A late start but still a start.

The ability to get my bearings took a moment. I was very thankful for being so close to the central train station.

I love how regular business were anything but pop up and mass constructed strip malls.

Back into the thick of Christmas.

Christmas time everywhere all the time.

I always said that I would start my diet after the holidays, but I felt that if I keep eating I would never make it.

So much to see and do in such a short amount of time.

This was an odd statue of Juliet.

This was an incredible disappointing scene to see the massive structure under construction, but again still cool to be standing in history.

Again standing in so much history is incredibly emotional.

I love the composition of this picture

The church was even more awe inspiring then I could ever have imagined, and it was right up there with many of the things I have seen in Tokyo.

I loved how everywhere was decorated like you were in a forest.

The other thing was that amazing during this trip is that the weather was nice, I mean really nice. Several times I had to take my coat off because I was overheating.

Everywhere you look there is history that at one point was brand new, which leaves me thinking what did they mean and where were put up in the first place.

Made a new friend over hot wine.

This was an incredible encounter meeting to Women from south east asia that spoke German. It was crazy to think that they were there studying German.

I loved how there were concerts setting up everywhere playing amazing and beautiful music.

This was no Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka station. Although not as big a station from what I am use to, this was no less easy to navigate. When my friend finally elaborated on the idea that they knew too that finding the right train took some effort, but finally I found it.

That concluded the first day and a half. Munich to Salzburg, just a hop, skip, and a jump.

With only a few train tracks you would think that it wouldn’t be hard to find but oh man was I wrong. Here things changed in an instant.

Of course I had to stop and see all the amazing media.

No japan, but still very cool seeing all the vending machines.

Very strange seeing all weird and odd things. Makes you wonder what on earth some of these things are used for.

A full half day of adventuring around the town of Salzburg finished, and now on to the first full day. Krampus

This was the end of a life-changing trip, an adventure, and a wonderful new beginning. Now back to Munich before heading to the Airport.

Munich Airport, one last big advantrue

Back home and reeling in all the magic I just experienced.
