A new way of seeing the world.

I didn’t just go out and buy a new camera, and then immediately regret it because later I found out that it wasn’t the actual camera I waned. This time I took a lot of time and research before jumping in. I mean considering the price tag and and what I wanted to do, those two things played into my decision a lot. I use to use a canon until up until I was in japan and ended up caring it around with dead batteries which was not only frustrating but also heavy. I traded it off for cash thinking that i could get away with just a I phone 17 Pro Max. And I did taking over 10,000 pictures on my 2025 trip to Japan. Not until after returning from Germany did I realize that I took two pictures one in Germany/Austria and one in Japan that I wish I had had a better camera. As an artist I love taking references and then going back and using my pictures as references.

The pictures were great for captaining the moment in saying this was a moment alive and happening that I was fortunate enough to be there and apart of it, but as a reference that I wold go back and later attempt to draw and paint the depth just wasn’t there. With my next trip planned I decided that I would not miss out on that chance again. Because this time, this trip was all about being there, experiencing everything and meeting and making new and profound friends.

I want to take pictures and make memories but more importantly I want to go back and make art. This is that journey of seeing the world in another way.

Garden Creek Falls: Take one.

This is not a process of whipping out a phone or point and shoot camera and taking a picture and saying that’s that, this is a process of learning to take and capture amazing moments as they happen that are as true to the reality as possible.

I try and keep my camera with me always to take pictures as life happens. What’s the point of having a camera if you you don’t use it or have it. When I sold off my other camera that was the point I made. The best camera you have is the one in your hand, and the one I always have in my hand is my phone.
